ReBUILDING how the country supports its own after service.
We’re driven by one mission: to turn the hardest part of leaving service into a foundation for clarity, community, and leadership.
Belonging, Rebuilt
Truxtun was the old Army lacrosse locker room at West Point — the place you could let your guard down. It was family. That belonging is what too many veterans lose leaving service, and what we exist to give back.
-
Truxtun began with our founder, CJ LoConte. After leaving the Army — losing his identity, and losing his soldiers to suicide — CJ went to the VA for help and got a cocktail of medications that left him worse, until he was hospitalized. A doctor finally suggested psychedelics off the record. The experience lifted years of guilt, but what made it last was the integration work that followed — the coaching and support that turned an experience into a new outlook and a renewed sense of purpose.
As CJ reached out to other veterans, he heard the same story again and again: the system was failing them, and there was nowhere structured to turn, no trusted community that understood. He started Truxtun so there would be.
-
The psychedelic experience gets the attention. The work that makes it last usually gets skipped. That’s our work. Trusted partner programs run the experiences. What we build is everything around them — the preparation that gets veterans ready, the integration that makes the change stick, and the community that carries them long after.
-
Preparation & Integration
The work most programs skip. We fund the preparation that gets veterans ready and the integration coaching that follows — where insight becomes a new outlook, better habits, and renewed purpose.
Community
Service gives veterans a tribe. Transition takes it away. We rebuild it through community events, mentorship dinners, speaker nights, and an alumni network that stays active long after — a trusted circle of people who understand, for good.
Access
This care isn’t covered by insurance or offered by the VA, which puts it out of reach for most. We fund veterans’ access so cost never decides who gets help.
Education & Research
We partner with researchers studying veteran outcomes — strengthening the evidence, broadening education, and advancing policy.
